britain at war magazine

The December 2007 issue of the Britain At War magazine features an article on the sinking of the SS Falaba, and the subsequent effect on the United States of America of the killing of one of its citizens; Leon C Thrasher.

Thrasher, a 30 year old mining engineer from Massachusetts, was the first American victim of Germany's unrestricted submarine warfare.

The article by Raymond Humphreys details the events before, during and after the sinking of the Falaba. It is illustrated by a number of prints, including two photographs of the Tower Hill memorial (as seen on the right) provided by this website.
